Guest guest
I'm curious too - as I don't plan on using soy product either except perhaps as a once in a while thing. I am hypothyroid and so can impact that and also had breast cancer 10 years ago - so am just staying away from it. I don't love it anyway - so it isn't a hard thing for me to do without. --- On Wed, 3/25/09, Peter <metalscarab wrote: Peter <metalscarabRe: Red Meat is bad for you.... what a surprise Date: Wednesday, March 25, 2009, 1:42 AM Hi Jon I'd be intrigued to know why you don't plan using any soy products. It seems curious since you don't give the impression of having an allergy to soy, and I can't see any other reason why you would want to avoid it. As far as the question of the healthiest diet goes - all of the data available suggests vegetarian / vegan over meat: average life expectancy is around 5 years more... incidents of heart disease, cancer, Alzheimers, MS, and most other serious diseases are far lower amongst vegans than meat eater. So I don't really think there's much question over which is healthier. BB Peter
Guest guest
I think it possible that there may be a difference of opinion in America and Great Britain on this subject. It used to be thought that soy products weren't good if you had breast cancer, but I thought the latest research showed that it caused no harm, and may even be good for you. I have heard that people with malfunctioning thyroids might have to be careful. Nobody needs to eat soy, but I can't see much to recommend never eating if you like it. Guest guest
Honestly, every anti-soy " research " I've seen is somehow linked to the meat and/or dairy industries. Just eat a balanced diet, is all.On Thu, Mar 26, 2009 at 3:47 AM, heartwerk <jo.heartwork wrote: I think it possible that there may be a difference of opinion in America and Great Britain on this subject. Guest guest
We make pancakes with flour and soy milk - is this what you mean by soy pancakes?
