Guest guest
Sandy, I don't know if this will be helpful, but the VegFamily magazine is starting up a vegan weight loss club, complete with website soon. You can get on the pre-launch list at http://www.vegfamily.com/health/vegan-weightloss-club.htm and you'll get an invite when the website's finished (soon, they say). I signed up for the pre-launch invite, for what it's worth. It doesn't look like there are fees involved and they promote that the group will provide " support, motivation, and a program to follow " to encourage vegan weight loss. I've lost about 15 pounds since starting the vegan diet last August, so I can relate to your " plateau " frustration. Sometimes your body just hits a certain weight and is just stubborn about leaving it. Instead of counting the pounds all the time, I find it more helpful to notice the little things that are positive--like how my pants feel loose around the waistline now. When I'm stuck on a plateau, I cheer myself up by telling myself that my body is working on lowering cholesterol levels that day instead of pounds. Or that my body must be adding muscle to compensate for the fat loss (muscle weighs more than fat!)...whatever it takes not to get frustrated!
