Guest guest
find out how they are getting in and try and seal up the entrance. mice can sneak into the smallest entrance. bathroom cabinet...are they coming in along the pipes then? try using steel wool to plug up any obvious entry points. there are hav-a hart and other brands of live traps out there, which have varied results. you can try and capture them live, and then relocate them to a suitable location, like a field or somesuch.can you put the soap into something the mice can't get into easily? even something like tupperware? the goal is to discourage anything easy. lock your kitty in the bathroom for a few hours afterwards, between the loss of eas food, easy access and the smell of a cat, they might get the message and scram you can try other deterents suh as oil of peppermint or cayenne pepper scattered over the floor of the cabinent veggiemomma4 Mar 31, 2009 2:47 AM help with mice! Guest guest
Steel wool is a good idea Fraggle - especially in places you can't reach too easily - it would be easier than trying to fill with polyfilla. Jo
Guest guest
We have mice too, and in a house of four cats! I've been very pleased with something called the " Smart Mouse Trap " as it's the only trap that is humane and works well too. You can see the mouse inside(make sure you check daily) and can then walk them outside a ways from your house and release them. The only trick then is to find out where they're entering the house and block the entrance to prevent them from coming back. You can google the trap, but I've purchased them at: https://www.petacatalog.org/prodinfo.asp?number=HP200 You can also buy from: http://www.seabrightlabs.com/mouse.htm http://www.greenfeet.com/itemdesc.asp?kw=Smart-Mouse-Trap-Humane-Mouse-Trap & ic=5\ 507-00777-0000 & eq= For $11, you can't beat the results and a clean conscience! I've also seen things that you plug into the wall that emits a frequency they don't like (supposed to keep them from moving around in the walls and in-between spaces of a house), but I don't know if it works. Good luck! Guest guest
We've used that smart mouse trap one for years too, it works great! Last mouse was a deer mouse and it chewed the little plastic lip that keeps it open, so now I need a new one! I caught 25 in the attic last year with that one trap (one at a time). It works!!Ann whitty__ Wednesday, April 01, 2009 8:07 AM Re: help with mice! We have mice too, and in a house of four cats!
