Guest guest
As much as I like deserts (always have) in the vegan thoroghfare where does this lie? Pudding made with soy milk I hear is not nice, and gelatin is made from bone marrow. Now what? Give these up altogether? ~Marilyn
Guest guest
I would say try a tofu based pudding recipe. Vegan Planet has a chocolate pudding recipe that is amazing, not healthy but delicious! Or try looking for chocolate tofu pie online, as I am sure you will find other flavor options as well. Good luck!--- On Sun, 4/19/09, Marilyn <Bkspedit wrote: Marilyn <Bkspedit Questions about pudding and gelatin Date: Sunday, April 19, 2009, 2:51 PM As much as I like deserts (always have) in the vegan thoroghfare where does this lie? Guest guest
Well I can try those. Thanks! Now gelatin? I can't imagine a change from bone marrow, but I might be blinded by commercialism. Are there vegan gelatins? ~M , Brandy Petrone <veggiemomma4 wrote: > > I would say try a tofu based pudding recipe. Guest guest
I don't have deserts often, but when I do I make my own. If yoiu make sponge pudding type puddings they work perfectly with vegan margarine, and soya milk. Sometimes I make a trifle from vegan jelly crystals, and fruit, and then serve with cold custard made with soya milk, or Swedish Glace. Swedish Glace, and other soya ice creams are delicious. There is vegan single cream, double cream and whipping cream for use on desserts. You can make tarts of all kinds, or banana splits. If you fancy cakes there are numerous vegan cake books around, and all the cakes I have tried have worked just fine. Guest guest
There is a vege-gel, I think it is called, but I haven't used it yet. Guest guest
Silken tofu, a bag of vegan choc chips melted, about 5-6 tbl water--put in food blender. Comes out like chocolate mousse.
