Guest guest
Amen to that. As a 4 time Cancer survivor, I am doing quite well now, but my living will says in effect, “No Frickin’ heroic measures” should my death be inevitable. If I could tattoo it on my chest, I would. The Terry Schiavo case several years back in Florida freaked me out. While I applaud anyone who feels differently, I’m lucky to have a living will executor who supports me in this. The same rights should apply to people. Guest guest
Whne I was 10 my nan had been ill for many years with damaged heart-valves (they couldn't do anything about it then). She could not walk more than a few feet without being terribly breathless. When her heart really started to fail she got fluid in the lungs etc. and although children weren't allowed to visit in hospitals (I had to stay outside when my mum visited), I was allowed in on her last evening because the doctors said that the amount of painkiller she needed would kill her, and it was my chance to say goodbye. Nowadays this is a crime, but I can't see the point in keeping someone alive, in terrible pain, if there is no chance of a recovery.
