Guest guest
Someone here said they live near the Field Roast company. I just tried their Italian sausage. All I can say is wow! Field Roast sausage is a grain-based product, and while it comes in the shape of a sausage I'm not sure it's a meat analog, exactly. It's more like a grain loaf. It's sure tasty, though, whatever label you want to give it. I tossed together a pasta dish using it. I boiled some wholegrain pasta. While it was cooking, I stir-fried onion and garlic along with sliced Field Roast Italian sausage. I added some chopped fresh basil, then added a can of diced tomatoes and a splash of port. By the time the pasta was cooked the sausage mix was heated through. I put in some drained pasta, tossed it together, and served it topped with Parma. Yum! Guest guest
They also make an apple/sage sausage, as well as a loaf type roast. Both are so good that my non-vegan family love it--even my finicky 8 year-old grandson (I've mentioned him before.) Hm-m-m-m, there might be a Field Roast meal coming up in my future!!!!!! How do you prepare it? It sounds as if it would go with sauerkraut, maybe? Cheers, Trish
