Guest guest
Hi We eat lots of vegetables, quite a lot of fruit, beans, nuts, lentils, rice, vegan pasta, bread, vegan margarine, nut butters, vegan pates, porridge, soups, veggie bakes made with veggies, white sauce and vegan parmesano, jacket potatoes with coleslaw, beans, sweetcorn - anything really. You can make pies or you can eat vegan ready foods like sausages, burgers, schnitzels, nuggets, fishy-style fingers, polony, salami, chorizo, tuna-type chunks, roasts, tofu etc. etc. Jo - david.tate96 Friday, July 10, 2009 5:37 PM Re: How do I get started??????? well like just what should I eat on a normal day?like breakfast , lunch and, dinner?and for snacks in between.I work out and probably need to eat alot, especially if I am not eating all that high calory stuff like milk and meat. Guest guest
Author makes vegetarian eating easy By: JULIANA BUNIM July 10, 2009 SAN FRANCISCO — Patti Breitman, the co-author of " How to Eat Like a Vegetarian, Even If You Never Want to Be One " will give a cooking demo Aug. 4 at the San Francisco Public Library. What's an easy way for people to incorporate more vegetables into their diets? Even when you're eating in a restaurant, you can ask for your pasta primavera-style, and it will come with all kinds of veggies in the sauce. Or, order a side of veggies or a small salad and top your baked potato with them. Do people always need to follow recipes to cook a satisfying vegetarian meal? Always? More often it's never! Any grain, potato or pasta can be the center of a meal. Top them with steamed veggies and any sauce — even just soy sauce or seasoned rice vinegar — and there's a fast, delicious and health-promoting meal. What is your favorite recipe in the book? The Life Saving, Time Saving, No Recipe Dinner Formula. It's a chart and you can pick anything from columns one, two and three to create a scrumptious meal. What vegetarian meal do you recommend if cooking for a nonvegetarian? Probably vegan lasagna. Most of the people I know who are not vegetarian love this one and ask for the recipe. What prompted you to write the book? I wanted to debunk the myth that it's hard work to eat well. The book shares the shortcuts, secrets, recipes and no-recipe methods of longtime vegetarians. http://www.sfexaminer.com/local/Author-makes-vegetarian-eating-easy-50425112.html

Guest guest
I think cooking demonstrations are a good way of drawing people's atttention to the fact that meat and dairy are not necessary for a delicious meal.
