Guest guest
>>>> What do you do when you see a cockroach? <<<< I see them every day, but hopefully they're all in their terrariums ;-) The three species of cockroach that live with humans (out of the more than 3,500 species worldwide) are real pests. Fortunately, while they are found in Oregon, it's too cold and wet for them to live outside. They're not a major problem. But down in southern California, they're everywhere. I wouldn't hesitate to exterminate if I had an infestation. Then, I'd put some good natural repellents around the house. Bay leaves in cabinets and corners, cut cucumbers in dishes here and there, and the bugs stay away. We had carpenter ants in our crawl space a few years ago. They nest in wood and will " decompose " your supports in a hurry. We exterminated and then put repellents around the foundation. Ethically, I believe I'm at fault, but that's the decision I made. I put my own self interest first and killed the insects that could destroy my house. I don't kill just for the hell of it, though. Ethics is hard! Guest guest
the horrid 8 months i lived in san diego in 1998, our house had a huge cockroach issue. only outside tho. there were these HUGE cockroaches that lived in the leaves that blew up against the house. when i'd rake or sweep the leaves away, hundreds upon hundreds of big brown buggers would run every which way. i called em wood cockroaches. but they never came in the house. guess they were happy living in the dead magnolia leaves. in NYC, we used to have to knock our boots out every morning to make sure there were no lil friends hanging on inside. bantrymoon Sep 13, 2009 12:48 PM Re: Silk >>>> What do you do when you see a cockroach? <<<<I see them every day, but hopefully they're all in their terrariums ;-)The three species of cockroach that live with humans (out of the more than 3,500 species worldwide) are real pests.
