Guest guest
the only thing i can think of to discourage squirrels would be one of those motion sensors hooked up to a hose. when the lil critter scampers past, the motion sensor goes off and squirts em with a blast of water.... they use em for raccoons (with mixed results) other then that...umm...squirrels are rambunctuous, smart, and stubborn. they don't take " no! " for an answer very well... fraggle You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me!
Guest guest
Thanks Fraggle! I'll look into that and give it a try. Yes, they are tenacious little guys! I think the problem is that the neighbor on the other side of the easement feeds them nuts and stuff and then they come into our yard to bury them. Also, because we have a lot of trees and such around the house and in the backyard, it's a great place for a squirrel if you take away the dogs. We used to feed them until we adopted Gracie - we knew she had a high prey drive and we stopped. The greyhounds would chase them if they were in the backyard with them, but we made noise to scare 'em off and the greyhounds pretty much ignored them while they were inside. Gracie won't. She goes insane if they are in " her " backyard. So the squirrels have not been fed by us in 3 years. I miss them. I had one that would follow me to the garage, where I kept the critter food. She would gently take things from me. She was just really sweet. She took up residence in a screech owl nest box in our tree and had her babies there. They were cute little guys when they started coming out of the box!!
