Guest guest
i can quite honestly say i've never had suet pudding, nor seen it...be it vegan or not... not even sure i've ever seen "vegetable" suet.... heartwerk Nov 12, 2009 2:54 AM Jam Suet Pudding I found this recipe on the web. My mum used to make these (not vegan) and they were delicious, and of course they had to be steamed for an hour or two because microwaves were not around then. Maybe I'll give it a go sometime. If you like only healthy recipes don't read this. This is very sugary and fatty. It can be made in a few minutes and serves 4 people.6 oz. (150g) white self-raising flour3 oz. (75g) vegetable suet3 tbsps jam2 oz. (50g) sugar½ pint (250 ml) soya milkGrease a pudding basin (1.5 pint or 1 litre) with margarine and spoon jam into the bottom. In a bowl, mix together the flour, suet, sugar and a pinch of salt. Gradually stir in the milk and pour the mix into the bowl. Cover the bowl with a plate and microwave for 4 to 5 minutes on full power. Turn out onto a plate. Whilst it is cooking, make some custard from soya milk.Serves 4 You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me!

Guest guest
from Wikipedia Vegetable suet is available in supermarkets in the United Kingdom, made from fat such as palm oil combined with rice flour. It resembles shredded beef suet, and is used as a vegetarian substitute in recipes, but with slightly different results from animal suet. Guest guest
I used vegetable suet once - unfortunately it was hydrogenated, so not healthy.
