Guest guest
I'll be participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer May 15-16th. Got a lot of training to do before I walk 39 miles, but it'll be worth it. It'd be wonderful if any of you could lend a donation my way. Anything helps. Even if you're broke and all you can do is spread the word and the URL around, that would be more than enough and I'd be eternally grateful. http://www.avonwalk.org/goto/AndreaBermanThanks a mil in advance!Andrea-- AIM: A Blue Rose 156 YM: blue_rose_156 http://x-bluerose-x.livejournal.com http://timeladydesigns.etsy.com~Boston_Gothic Boston_Mystic Boston-Pagans
Guest guest
Hi Blue RoseSo... and this is a genuine question... does any of the funding they put into scientific research go to fund vivisection? They seem very unclear on the point on their website...BBPeter 2010/1/22 Blue Rose <bluerose156 I'll be participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer May 15-16th. Guest guest
For the curious...From http://walk.avonfoundation.org/site/PageServer?pagename=walk_how_spent_2k7:Will any of the money raised go towards research that uses animal testing? No. Effective November 1, 2001, the policy of the Avon Foundation is that no Avon Breast Cancer Crusade funds will be used to support breast cancer research projects involving the use of animals. On Fri, Jan 22, 2010 at 1:31 PM, <bluerose156 wrote: All I know is that they don't test on animals. Guest guest
If it is the normal pink ribbon walk then it does go towards vivisection. When asked to contribute to it at work I emailed the breast cancer charity and asked them. Guest guest
That’s brilliant – obviously not the same charity I was asked to support.
