Guest guest
Since i've got like 5 pages of messages to read, and really don't have the time at the moment to troll thru them all, thought i'd toss out something, from my point of view, that has been bouncing around the group lately... why vegan for all the environmental (a big thing for me), health issues (basically non-existent for me), religious (ditto) reasons, it all boils down to... for me there is NO reason why i have to eat an animal there is no reason why i have to make an animal suffer there is no reason any other creature needs to suffer, be imprisoned, be tortured, be killed, be dismembered, for me. there is no reason i need to eat an animal no animal should need to suffer because i want its skin, its fir, its hair, its flesh, its young, its milk. i can happily live and thrive without any of that. i do not need milk from a cow, yak, goat, sheep.. i am not a calf, kid or lamb. therefore, i do not require milk designed for a calf, kid, or lamb. anytime you drink milk or eat cheese, or any product made from milk, you are taking away food that was meant for the mother's infant. thats all there is to it. if you drink cow milk, somewhere, a cow was impregnated, the calf was taken away, and the milk is stolen from the mother. thats it, end of story. thats the way its done, there is no other way. no creatue should suffer because of taste, or texture,or color, or fad, or popularity, or because " thats what's always been done " i have no reason to kill another animal. so why should i? just because we can eat flesh, doesn't mean we should. we are designed to eat flesh. we are vegetarian based omnivores. i can eat bags of mulch, doesn't mean i should. thats the way it is, from me, my point of view. than k you and have a happy day fraggle “We now know that a neo-conservative is an arsonist who sets the house on fire and six years later boasts that no one can put it out.†- Bill Moyers

Guest guest
" anytime you drink milk or eat cheese, or any product made from milk, you are taking away food that was meant for the mother's infant. " not to mention prolonging an unnatural and unnecessary state in the animal! I agree with you! , fraggle <EBbrewpunx wrote: > > Since i've got like 5 pages of messages to read, and really don't have the time at the moment to troll thru them all, thought i'd toss out something, from my point of view, that has been bouncing around the group lately... > why vegan > for all the environmental (a big thing for me), health issues (basically non-existent for me), religious (ditto) reasons, it all boils down to... > for me > there is NO reason why i have to eat an animal > there is no reason why i have to make an animal suffer > there is no reason any other creature needs to suffer, be imprisoned, be tortured, be killed, be dismembered, for me. > there is no reason i need to eat an animal > no animal should need to suffer because i want its skin, its fir, its hair, its flesh, its young, its milk. > i can happily live and thrive without any of that. > i do not need milk from a cow, yak, goat, sheep.. > i am not a calf, kid or lamb. > therefore, i do not require milk designed for a calf, kid, or lamb. > anytime you drink milk or eat cheese, or any product made from milk, you are taking away food that was meant for the mother's infant. thats all there is to it. if you drink cow milk, somewhere, a cow was impregnated, the calf was taken away, and the milk is stolen from the mother. thats it, end of story. thats the way its done, there is no other way. > no creatue should suffer because of taste, or texture,or color, or fad, or popularity, or because " thats what's always been done " > i have no reason to kill another animal. > so why should i? > just because we can eat flesh, doesn't mean we should. > we are designed to eat flesh. we are vegetarian based omnivores. > i can eat bags of mulch, doesn't mean i should. > > thats the way it is, from me, my point of view. > than k you and have a happy day > > fraggle > > > > “We now know that a neo-conservative is an arsonist who sets the house on fire and six years later boasts that no one can put it out.†- Bill Moyers >
