I use nutritional yeast in almost every recipe that would taste good with a slight cheese flavor. beans & rice, burritos, tacos, soups. I use it in seitan and veggie burger patties. I also have a cheese (queso) sauce recipe that uses it. I also LOVE it sprinkled on popcorn. it's high in protein and B vitamins.

What sort of recipe? Do you mean sweet, or savoury, main meal, snack etc.Jo@gro ups.com, "sprightcat" <sprightcat@ ...> wrote:>> anyone have a recipe that they use that is good?>

I've never made them (and am unlikely to), but if you google

" theppk " and " rice krispies " you should find one

from the always-reliable-for-dessert-recipes Isa Chanda Moskwitz. I

didn't follow the links, but it looks as if Veganomicon may have a

recipe.

You may not be quite what you're looking for, but it's a delicious

recipe and very easy to make vegan -- just get vegan chocolate chips,

and use just chocolate instead of chocolate and butterscotch chips.

My mom made these regularly during my childhood, and my lovely

vegan-tolerant parents and I can still agree on these yummy cereal bars!

Thanks Trish. This recipe looks fairly easy. I have tried using vegan marshmallows in the original recipe, but it just doesn't work as well. I never even thought to use corn syrup and sugar instead. I noticed the recipe says to use light corn syrup and sugar. Any reason anyone can think of that you just couldn't use regular corn syrup and skip the sugar????Vicky "Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to a man. I think you could use regular corn syrup just fine. You could try it

without the sugar, though I never have. I've also substituted brown rice

syrup for the corn syrup. It worked, but the bars were a lot stickier

and harder to cut.

This is not a terribly healthy snack, so I figure if I make scotcheroos

I live with the corn syrup and sugar and endure it like a woman. It's

not for the faint of heart.

Cheers,

Trish
