Guest guest
I've been moping--about nothing in particular--just moping, and stuffing my face with unvegan brookies from fred meyer's. the house is a disaster, I sit listless and inert throughout the day, barely able to change my kid's diaper. So, tonight, I asked myself, what IS IT that provides the Spark to living that emerges from within and creates a natural order to one's life? I don't have an answer yet, but suddenly, I started moving--I've gotten more dishes done in 5 minutes than in the last week, and dinner--though late--is almost done. and why we're at it, why are there only straight-edge screwdrivers around when you need a phillips? Guest guest
I'm not sure what creates the spark - for me - I don't like to be in too much of a mess, and there is always the chance that somebody might visit unexpectedly and find me in a mess - once I have that thought I just have to tidy and clean. That said - if we can go out and enjoy ourselves instead - that wins every time. Guest guest
I suffer from SAD during the wintertime, and there's really only a few things that help:1) Physical exercise, especially yoga. I also work out on my elliptical.2) The fact that my commute now has me outdoors for at least 15 min per day 3) Taking the time out for myself to pamper me in a way that's good. I bought a cucumber, a face mask, a and played a nice trance/alt/ambient/New Age mix on my iTunes while I gave myself a facial. Cheap way of doing it, too. It's hard to do, but it starts out with a little bit, and that little bit inspires you to do more...and so on. But I credit that initial being outdoors running around from one place to another towards having me have a more stable, mentally, and emotionally good winter. I hate the cold and the lack of sun. Naturally I bought a home in New England. Guest guest
The best thing for SADs is to go out every day. Have you thought of getting one of the bright light machines available to treat SADs? I think if you have it on your desk or shining on you when you are reading, knitting etc. it fools the brain into making the right chemicals. Guest guest
I wake up to a dawn simulator, and it helps immensely. But yeah, that new commute of mine is helping out tons.On Thu, Feb 18, 2010 at 2:50 AM, heartwerk <jo.heartwork wrote: The best thing for SADs is to go out every day. Guest guest
Hmm, that may be part of my issue. Guest guest
I have no idea what the Spark is or where it comes from. I know that there are a lot of times that I think I'm missing that Spark. Lately, I have been in that funk, as well. I'm starting to think that it is weather related. This damn winter is getting to me. Seems like there's no end to it this year. I know when the sun is shining, I think I feel better. Guess I have SAD. Who knows?I do know that there is a point when the dust does stop piling up, though! LOL So, don't sweat it. The Spark will return and your mess will still be there waiting for you!~~Vicky "Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to a man. Guest guest
I think people who feel like that might be missing some B vitamins, are maybe having too much sugar or processed carbohydrate, and not drinking enough water.
