Guest guest
i really don't have time for a long explanation or comment but today is that little day called Easter. and every comment i see or hear is " happy easter " followed by some variant of " Can't wait for the lamb donner " and normally i would just shrug or roll my eyes but..this time..today... i'm sorta nonplussed so, folks are supposedly celebrating the resurrection of the son of their god, or their god, or whichever variant they worship there of... the one they call the lamb of god and here they are, talking about eating a little baby animal, and being beyond gleeful about it some days, i just don't get it... fraggle You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me! Guest guest
I feel this way about almost all religious holidays. Seems an oxymoron that all religious holidays are spent with some sort of dead/murdered animal in the center of the table. Oh well. ~~Vicky "Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to a man. Guest guest
I too felt off and sad all day yesterday. I find it comforting, somewhat, that I was not alone. One of the posts I received from a relative was " Praise Jesus because HE has risen, and now it is time to break into that delicious ham. " Seriously? I felt achy and depressed throughout the day, while so many people are celebrating. Yesterday morning my stepmother gleefully announced that two of my younger brothers signed up for the US marines. She said she is proud. It moved me to tears. These sweet boys that I watched grow up are going to be trained killers for the US government. The world is backward at times. Sending people on this list love and peaceful thoughts. Maybe we'll get there someday. ~Faith , fraggle <EBbrewpunx wrote: > > i really don't have time for a long explanation or comment > but > today is that little day called Easter. > and every comment i see or hear is " happy easter " followed by some variant of " Can't wait for the lamb donner " > and normally i would just shrug or roll my eyes > but..this time..today... > i'm sorta nonplussed > so, folks are supposedly celebrating the resurrection of the son of their god, or their god, or whichever variant they worship there of... > the one they call the lamb of god > and here they are, talking about eating a little baby animal, and being beyond gleeful about it > some days, i just don't get it... > > > fraggle > > > > > You're just jealous because the voices only talk to me! >

Guest guest
I’m sorry to hear about your brothers – both because they will be trained to kill, and because they may be killed. Peace to you too. Guest guest
You're talking about a religion which glorifies death and sacrifice--why be shocked? I hear how people were " moved " by the movie Passion of the Christ. It just made me so gods-darned happy that I'm not Christian. Guest guest
I do find it a bit scary that the cross (instrument of torture and death) is worn by people as a symbol of their faith. I feel that the symbols you use around you are invoking energies, and invoking energies of torture and death is not a good idea, imo. Guest guest
Just remember folks, everyone's religious ideas, mores, and ideals are not only different, but often very near and dear to their hearts... careful of toes please....religious toes get smashed easily, and hurt the longest.... just saying (i never get to wear my moderator hat anymore..just dusting it off) fraggle
Guest guest
I am certainly sorry if I have offended anyone. It's kind of been my experience that most vegans I've met...especially those that are vegan for animal rights reasons....are generally not religious. Spiritual with all beings on this planet...yes...but not religious. However, it certainly isn't my intention to offend anyone on this list who may have deeply held religious beliefs.~~Vicky "Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to a man. Guest guest
why should you apologize for something that is not proven or provable. I am very open minded, I love great ideas, and anything that may fulfill a persons life, I am also aware of what is true and what is faith, I have faith, and I can not prove a reason for it.....Jeff Patricia <moondreamer64_2000 Sent: Fri, April 9, 2010 1:31:31 AMRe: Re: just weird I'm fine with it.Patricia--- On Tue, 4/6/10, heartwerk <jo.heartwork@ gmail.com> wrote:heartwerk <jo.heartwork@ gmail.com> Re: just weird@gro ups.comTuesday, April 6, 2010, 11:41 PMI don't think anyone has been offended.
