Guest guest
I've started to read Mark Twain's Book of Animals http://www.amazon.com/Mark-Twains-Animals-Jumping-Frogs/dp/0520248554/ref=sr_1_1\ ?ie=UTF8 & s=books & qid=1270571181 & sr=8-1 and was fairly surprised to learn that he was such a forceful voice for animals, even early in his writing career. The introduction to the book is quite illuminating and to top it off, you can enjoy some of the wittiest writing from an early American author out there. As the title suggests, it's a nice collection of his stories that center around animals. Just thought I'd share my pleasure in this read with all of you... Guest guest
I have seen films/series of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn – which I enjoyed – but I expect the books are much better. Guest guest
I found a really old copy of Tom Sawyer and wanted my son to read it. He immediately started complaining that it was too hard. So, we made it a book to read together. To my surprise, I realized that I had never read the book either (must have only seen the movie!) and that book is hard to read!! I had no idea that a classic could be so difficult! I didn't realize that Mark Twain didn't like to always use punctuation! Some sentences seemed to go on forever. When reading out loud, I would actually get a headache! I'd love to take a look at his book of animals, though. Thanks for sharing!! ~~Vickywhitty__ <ravenwolf18 Sent: Tue, April 6, 2010 11:30:53 AM Mark Twain Afficianados?
