I usually don't eat lettuces -- I prefer kale and other greens -- but

I ordered some seeds for a " stem lettuce " that doesn't bolt in the

summer and stays crunchy. I'm looking forward to trying it. When I

grew some lettuces that I got as tiny seedlings from a fellow

gardener, I couldn't keep up with eating them -- several bolted and

got bitter before I could eat them.

 

I'm also looking forward to trying a " podding radish " that's grown

for seed pods rather than for the root.
