Guest guest
Oh yea, I'll take the occasional shake, rattle and roll over the cold and occasional tornados. Don't forget there is an earthquake now and then in the midwest. Infrequent but strong enough to change the course of the Mississippi River . . . The few times I waited on a bus in the snow in January in Detroit when my car was broken. Noooooooooooo It is also fun in Iowa, with no hills to stop the wind where I was living (Storm Lake). Um, I like California . . . Gary
Guest guest
In defense of Californians, although i'm not one, I've heard them say that if they've gotta die in an earthquake, they'll take the good times until the earthquake comes, LOL! Guest guest
<<Infrequent but strong enough to change the course of the Mississippi River . . .Gary>> LOL! Last time I saw a hurricane in South Florida I was in shock and awe referencing the powers that be. I saw roofs flying, cars overturned, trees uprooted, and that's just in my neighborhood. But I still like the warm weather rather than the snows and ice I used to enjoy as a youngster.

Guest guest
When that earthquake hit the midwest in 2007 or 2008, people in central Missouri felt it. I didn't feel a thing in northeast Kansas, but at 4:45 that morning, my parrots fell off of their perches, the cats got up and started pawing on doors and meowing, and the dog got out of bed and started wandering around the house, acting like he was looking for something. I was seriously annoyed (I didn't have to get up for another 45 minutes) but learned about the earthquake on the radio in the car on the way to work -- the earthquake that hit at 4:45 am central time. Guest guest
Been in California all my life. Experienced the big ones, Whittier and Northridge, (among others)and although we didn't live near them (about an hour away), we felt them. My husband was in Northridge and said it was horrible. You could only get overpriced hot beer and diapers from the liquor store! LOL... The last quake I felt was last year, a 5.5 about an hour from here in some remote desert town. It was a quick jolt and then done. By the time I realized what it was, it was over. Anyway, it is so funny because they announce the 3.3's that hit the LA area, but don't annouce the desert quakes unless it is over 5! Go figure. That's CA for you. I've also been " lucky " enough to be under a tornado advisory while in A school in IL (military) and I have never seen the sky so many weird colors in my life. Orange, green, and some other weird combos. We didn't get hit, but I can't believe how freaked out some people were. Not having ever been in one, I was walking around our dorm while people were huddling in the common areas. Can't believe how clueless I was! , Suzie Emmel <lksct1 wrote: > > Hey guys, > Â Â Â I am a Californian.......LOVE it here!!!!!
