there's some important info for cat lovers.

Extensive studies have been done on the subject,  and the only animals on Earth

that cannot survive w/o meat are cats/lions/tigers, etc. Feline family.

I learned about this from a man who gave a 4 hour presentation on C-span about

the benefits of vegetarian diet and the impact it would have on the world

economy if people in developed nations even gave up meat 2 days a week. The

impact on the rain forests, starvation in Africa would be profound as it would

cut down on the need for grazing land for cattle, and the use of grain for food

for humans vs. beef. The man was a respected expert, but did admit that although

he had several happy, healthy vegetarian dogs, cats absolutely cannot survive

without meat or fish. 

That said, I had a cat that absolutely loved warm green peas. She loved fruit

juice sweetened jam. She loved vegetarian lentil soup. 

The most dangerous thing for cats are certain indoor plants. Be sure you don't

ever have lilies [clivia, etc.] indoors [the pollen is extremely toxic] as cats

like to eat flowers, and will also try to clean the pollen off their fur if they

brush against the flowers. Check the internet for list of plants toxic to cats.
