Guest guest
Kansas City has been treated to a very unusual white Christmas this year! I do not EVER remember having a White Christmas and I have lived here all of my almost 28 years! We frequently get snow on Thanksgiving and an ice storm on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day. The rain turned into sleet yesterday about noon and the sleet turned into snow that evening. On my way home from Mom's last night, there were 2-3 inches but I had no problems driving the 5 miles from her home to mine (love those anti-lock brakes!) Now it looks like it's between 4-6 inches, but of course the drifting makes it hard to tell. Just got in from shoveling my 12'x12' patio so my little 9-lb chihuahua can do his business -- and he did, the good little boy! In places, the snow had drifted up to 12 " . I'm sitting here drinking cocoa (I suspect that adding whipping cream to nonfat cocoa mix cancels out the nonfat part, but I'm not thinking about that too much -- it's Christmas!!) and checking my email and facebook. I'm going to head over to Mom's in an hour or two, taking my time. We don't have any small children in the family (yet -- just dogs!) so there's no need to hurry. Ooops, forgot that I meant to put out lots of black oil sunflower seeds for the winter birds, they'll need it in this weather. Lots of good fat and energy for them when they can't find anything else to eat because of the snow. Hope you and all of yours have a very Merry Christmas! Guest guest
Well, down here in East Central Florida, our idea of a White Christmas is going to the beach on Christmas day. Unfortunately, today it's overcast with scattered rainfall. I'm am so bummed out..... scott P.S.
Guest guest
Was hoping for a White Christmas this year...Another storm is in the forecast, so we may get some snow (just too late). Last year it snowed on my birthday (8 days before Xmas) and only lasted about 3 days. It was exciting to get snow, though, as it rarely snows here. They said last year it was a 30 year storm! Guest guest
This year we had snow but not on Christmas however it was still on the ground so it was white, yesterday it was pretty cold an my heat was not working properly, I had to call my land lord twice, as the first time they came out they thought it was fixed but was not. Today it is raining. In a message dated 12/26/2009 2:39:12 P.M.
