Guest guest
Woke up breathing, so that was a huge plus. Carl had installed my new oven element while I slept, and that was the first present I wanted. Whoo hoo! I can bake again! As usual, we had to take our vegetarian high tea plus ham, turkey, stuffing, broccoli casserole, cranberry sauce, peas, candied carrots, rolls, home made chocolates, pecan pie, chocolate silk pie, cake filled with ambrosia (4 layers yellow cake filled with boiled custard and stabilized whipped cream with coconut, crushed pineapple, maraschino cherries), pumpkin pie, tea pot, tea and the good china cups and saucers. Phew. Our precious daughter in love made a huge raw veggie tray with her special ranch dressing (ranch mix, sour cream, cream cheese). Good time was had by all and I left the dishes for the kids to do. I forgot to take my pain pills with me so by the time all that cooking and serving was done, I was ready to expire. Got home, took dogs out (Carl hasn't learned how to walk the newly blind dog yet), went into the loo for toothbrushing and the usual visit and as soon as I started to sit down the bloody crapper fell THROUGH THE FLOOR. So in the end, I am getting the second Christmas present I wanted, a new toilet and bathroom floor. Carl was aghast when he discovered that there wasn't any joists under the bathroom floor at all and the 2 bys which were under the floor were just about rotted through. We've been buying a couple of boards here and there and finally bought the new toilet last month and every Christmas the boss makes everyone take an unpaid week's vacation. Good thing we planned ahead, lol. (Pun intended.) Thank heavens we live out in the country and I used to camp out a lot when younger. Have spade will ..... dig. Happy Christmas, all, Jeanne in GA http://jeannefromgeorgia.blogspot.com/
