I have just relocated to Lakewood Ohio, close to Cleveland, Ohio. New to snow,

new to the north.

I don't know anyone here and don't know of any vegetarian restaurants or stores

that carry all the vegetarian products I use and love.

I appreciate any help anyone can offer.

I love baklava too.  I have 2 recipes in the files under desserts.  Should be in

the ethnic folder.  Now you can have 3 different ones to try.

Thanks!   I will.

I just didn't know if someone out there might have known of one that they would

recommend. I feel so lost.  lol    New town, no friends, looking for a job. lol

I've never lived where it snowed before. It will be an interesting adjustment.

:-/

I have a need to connect with fellow vegetarians.  The people  I am staying with

are not vegetarians and I feel like an alien. lol

Thanks again,

Jeannie

Jeannie,

Find your nearest health food market and talk to some of the employees and

fellow shoppers. Striking up a conversation with shoppers can be very helpful.

Google on line for local Vegetarian Restaurants and give them a call to check on

their menu. If you are not comfortable eating out alone order take out.

Get to know your neighbors and share some baked items and conversation.

It won't take you long to find new friends and they don't have to be Vegetarians

or Vegans. I don't know of another Vegetarian/Vegan in my town so can't limit

myself to one group.

In the mean time you have all of us as friends.

And enjoy the snow..Winter sports are great!

And Jeannie,

Be sure to pick up the local alternative newsweekly. Read the ads,

both classified and display, as well as the event listings.

Hi Jeannie and welcome to Northeast Ohio!

I live in Akron, which is about 40 miles south of Cleveland. I work in Cleveland

and have many friends who live in the Lakewood area.

Next time I'm at work I will be sure to ask them about veg. stores and

restaurants and will get back to you.

I know there is a Trader Joe's nearby somewhere...sorry not sure exactly where.

There is also a Wild Oates somewhere in the area and another store I am having

difficulty remembering the name...World Market or something like that.

Hope you enjoy Lakewood, I have heard wonderful things about it.

Happy New Year

Also, if you find one, please remember to add a restaurant.  :)
