Guest guest
I read The Skinny Bitch. It was an in-your-face eye opening book. Sassy, funny and VERY informative.
Guest guest
I liked it too, but read it about a month after going veg. Welcome to the group Cassie " life's a garden, dig it! Guest guest
I think I will get a copy of tis book for my girlfriend. She toys with the vegetarian diet. She will go veg for a month and then back to her old ways. Is there recipes in this book? Chico , " Cindy " <cmandel wrote: > > I read The Skinny Bitch. It was an in-your-face eye opening book. Guest guest
Hi Chico, There are no recipes in the book but they do have menu suggestions. They also provide a ton of helpful websites. My daughter has been a vegetarian for a long time and I am thinking of getting her this book. So much infomation! - chico_trucker Wednesday, December 30, 2009 3:24 PM [veg_grp] Re: Book I read ] Newbie I think I will get a copy of tis book for my girlfriend. She toys with the vegetarian diet. Guest guest
Yes, there are about 3 or 4 recipe/meal ideas (they aren't too detailed). But, they also have a recipe book, titled " Skinny Bitch in the Kitch " that has all recipes. One main concern I had hear was the use of faux products was very high. To me, I there is no animal product, I'll take the faux. I don't cook from it every day, cause I believe in soy moderation. P.S. Their chapter on liquor and soda was my FAV! Guest guest
..............and for the men can I mention " Skinny Bastard " ? Same authors but aimed at men. I think a lot of the information is the same, but tweaked a little for a male audience. I also found it useful for replies to statements like " I couldn't ever give up meat " , or " It isn't natural " . There is also a lot of info about artificial sweeteners, and what I read there helped me finally persuade my (non-vegan) other half to ditch them altogether.
