Price is great and you won't believe the strength. I have never found any to compare. Guest guest
Wow! I was about to order when I went to the HOME to see what else they might have, and there is a Maryland store not far from me. Yeah! I love cinnamon and end up putting much more that called for in the recipe. I'll look in an Asian market for some. I don't have a Penzy's in Maryland. I love oatmeal and add flax seed, Brewer's yeast, cinnamon, and whatever fruit I have (if I don't have fresh, I add raisins) Diana --- On Fri, 10/30/09, Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower@ > wrote: Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower@ > [veg_grp] Cinnamon info Friday, October 30, 2009, 11:20 AM Ceylon cinnamon is the only true cinnamon, rather mild for me. Vietnamese is the hottest. Cinnamon is very interesting. I only use the Vietnamese because I love a strong cinnamon scent and flavor. If you like you can read about it on Wikipedia. I have a link here for you. Penzey's sells all versions. They have their own cinnamon mix now, it's very good but nothing like the Vietnamese version. http://en.wikipedia .org/wiki/ Cinnamon Donna
Guest guest
A few years ago we had no Penzey's in Calif. One of the members from the group lived in San Diego and she came up to visit me. She asked how I loved the new Penzey's store she saw 2 miles away from me lol. I never saw it being built. Most people in my area still have no idea it's there. I try to spread the word. Guest guest
I appreciate the information which I'm passing on to friends. It is on a major road that I travel frequently, but there are so many small stores some of which are set back in small shopping areas that it is impossible to know them all :>) Expect to go sometime this coming week. Guest guest
Sorry to be so slow with the reply! I love the store, the shopkeepers, the spices, the recipes...guess you might say I'm very pleased :>) Also love the Vietnamese Cassia (cinnamon). Thank you for the recommendation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The huge corner complex sits down and you can't even start to read the signs at the corner. They took a large Crown Boostore that had gone out of business years ago and split it, one half is Penzey's and the other is BevMo. I can't wait to hear what you thin k of the store.
