Guest guest
I tried a vegan cheddar cheese today and I am VERY sorry to say I had to spit it out. It was the most disgusting taste I've experienced in a long time. It was expensive and I hate to waste food or money. This is very deppressing to me also because I am so desperate to find something cheese like. I miss cheese so much. I miss cheesy things. I used to love some melted cheese in a corn tortilla with some salsa as a nice quickie lunch. Does anyone know of any " cheese " product that actually tastes good, or is this something I have to say sayonara to. Jeannie your time is the most cherished gift of all, tomorrow is promised to no one. --- On Wed, 1/13/10, Audrey Snyder <AudeeBird wrote: Audrey Snyder <AudeeBird [veg_grp] Vegan Gourmet cheese Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 6:52 PM Made macaroni and cheese with this tonight -- good! The cat liked it, too. She stole a piece and got my glass coffee table all smeary... This needs onions, though. I've come to the conclusion that macaroni and cheese just needs sauteed onions in it. Period. Audrey
Guest guest
I think the Vegan Gourmet Brand is pretty good. I tried another once and didn't like it. Guest guest
If you stop eating real cheese for a month and add some grated Vegan Gourmet to your meals you will like it. It sure worked for me. I'm not vegan but I cut way down on dairy due to my cholesterol. Guest guest
One I tried was pretty ghastly, too. I still eat cheese, but only cheeses made without rennet. Cabot brand sharp cheddar (I find it at Sam's Club) is really good, made without rennet and from a cooperative of family farms. They are great people, wonderful cows and a company I trust. Moo. Audrey, sauteed onions in mac and cheese? Sounds delicious, I'm going to have to make that for lunch tomorrow.
