It is delicious too Karla Alton Brown's Granola 3 cups rolled oats 1 cup slivered almonds 1 cup raw cashews 3/4 cup shredded sweet coconut 6 tablespoons dark brown sugar 6 tablespoons maple syrup 1/4 cup vegetable oil -- (canola) 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup chopped dates -- (or raisins) 1. In a large bowl combine the oats, nuts, coconut and brown sugar. In a separate bowl, combine the syrup, oil and salt. Combine both mixtures and pour onto two sheet pans. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to brown evenly. Remove from the oven and transfer to a large brown. Add raisins (or dates) and mix until evening distributed.
