Alton Brown's Granola

He talked about his granola ojn the Tv show so I looked the recipe up on the net

over the weekend.

It is delicious too

Alton Brown's Granola

 

3 cups

rolled oats

1 cup slivered almonds

1 cup raw cashews

3/4 cup shredded

sweet coconut

6 tablespoons dark brown sugar

6 tablespoons maple

syrup

1/4 cup vegetable oil -- (canola)

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped

dates -- (or raisins)

 

1. In a large bowl combine the oats, nuts, coconut

and brown sugar. In a

separate bowl, combine the syrup, oil and salt. Combine

both mixtures and

pour onto two sheet pans. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes,

stirring every 15

minutes to brown evenly. Remove from the oven and transfer

to a large brown.

Add raisins (or dates) and mix until evening

distributed.

I wanted to give credit to Karla for this recipe.

I saw it's TNT and I will make it this weekend or next.

It sounds yummy. I love granola and I always watch Alton brown
