Guest guest
One of my daughters, a lactose intolerant vegetarian, will eat " Veggie Slices, " which are vegetarian--I don't know if they qualify as vegan, though. She says the cheddar, pepper jack, and Monterey jack are acceptable, but draws the line at the mozzarella imitation. She doesn't eat them straight, but sometimes as one of the ingredients in a sandwich. The other daughter, who is a lactose intolerant omnivore, says they are disgusting. She will, however, eat goat cheese and feta, which are low in lactose. Manchego cheese, which is made from sheep's milk, is pricy but a low lactose choice when you feel you must have a sharp cheddar taste but are lactose intolerant. Sue, slightly lactose intolerant omnivore, occasionally cooking vegetarian, but mainly here for the recipes and ideas on what to feed the kids. (And no one in the family but me likes tofu! LOL! And yesterday I tried to fix seitan for the first time, with no recipes in the house...)
