Guest guest Posted January 20, 2010 Report Share Posted January 20, 2010 Buttermilk Biscuits 1 cup buttermilk, or sour milk 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening 1 cup flour plus additional flour to knead Work the shortening into the flour using your hand or a pastry cutter. Add buttermilk, or sour milk, baking soda and salt to flour. Add additional flour to make a dough. Knead until smooth and elastic.
