Hi, Tony!

 

    I have been to a very nice health food store in Clearwater, but it was

some time ago.  I think it closed, in fact, then re-opened later.  I went

there a couple of times when my family and I used to vacation to the south of

Clearwater in St. Pete Beach area.  I remember they had a nice little deli area

there and there was food.  I don't know if I ever ate in the deli, but I

remember their selection of foods in the store was fairly good & extensive. 

(The little hotel we were staying at had a small kitchenette in our unit and I

often shopped in nearby places and then prepared some foods at the hotel.  

 

    The site for this place has a PDF file menu you can look at.  Some of

the foods are marked " vegetarian " , and I am wondering if a request to leave out

cheese, for example, would make it suitable for you as a vegan.  They do also

serve food for omnivore eaters, as is apparent from the other menu selections. 

That is the nearest place I know of that I have seen in the area, but I am sure

there must be nice restaurants and several other places where something can be

found.

     If you take the Clearwater Memorial Causway to the main road going

south along the beach, it becomes Gulf Blvd, which is a main road along the Gulf

Coast in that area.

 

     Take Gulf Blvd. to 107th Ave. (Aka, Central Ave.) and follow it

across the Treasure Island Causway (going EAST), to the corner of Central Ave.

and Pasadena Ave. S. . At the  " Y " corner, you will find  a shopping plaza

with a very nice Health food supermarket that has a very good deli. The name of

the grocery is " Nature's Finest Foods " . I HAVE had the food from their deli

and have shopped there many times.  It's a great place--not as fancy or as big

as a " Whole Foods Market " , but I always looked forward to going there--a kind of

side " treat " during vacation time.

Now, there are numerous restaurants in the Clearwater area, so I won't go into

those.

Several Thai restaurants, I know of, and, sorry to say, most of my own

restaurant experience in past visits there has been with the seafood

restaurants.  I hope you are able to find what both you and your wife can find

enjoyment and good food while you are down in Clearwater.  Have a great trip,

and, since you have a lot of time between now and October, you can do a lot of

research and plan where you want to go!
