Guest guest
I really have no recipe but each time I make them they are so darn good I eat way too many and they are a perfect side dish to veg riblets, go well with poyayo salad, nice stuffed in corn tortillas, veg burger or a sandwich. I take 1-1/2 cups brown lentils and rinse them and put in a sauce pan. I add about 3-1/2 cups water and you can add more water as needed while they cook. I add 2 cloves minced garlic, 1 medium onion chopped, a large squeeze of ketchup, 2 tsps of dried mustard powder, a tablsp. or 2 of molasses, 1 tblsp. of brown sugar, dash of liquid smoke, few pinches of cumin and I salt at the end. If you like you can also stir on a tbls of your favorite BBQ sauce. Kids like these too. Now after they boil about 35 minutes on a low flame taste them and see if you want to add extra of the above ingredients to your liking. I cook them about an hour total. Enjoy.
