[veg_grp] got a recipe for your burgers? Re: Question of the Week-

What's for Dinner at your home?

My very veggie burger recipe

Very Veggie Burgers

2c cooked rice

2c " beef " flavored TVP- I used unflavored and added some powdered

boullion

1c uncooked oatmeal

2TBS nutritional yeast

1c chopped onion

6TBS flax meal plus 12 TBS hot water or other egg equivalent

1c gluten flour

2tsp salt

1tsp pepper

2 TBS Beef-like seasoning

2TBS kitchen bouquet

1 large carrot, shredded

4-8oz sliced mushrooms

Saute the onion, carrot, and mushrooms in a pan with a little oil. Combine all

the other ingredients in a bowl, add veggies and mix well. If it is too dry you

can add a little soy milk or water, if it is too wet add a little flour. Form

into patties and fry in a nonstick skillet or bake until golden brown.

I am able to buy the TVP in bulk from one of our local grocery stores. You can

order it online though along with the other ingredients that you are having a

hard time finding. For gluten, nutritional yeast, flour etc, I get it from

www.naturalwaymills.com I know these people and they are great to work with.

Their grains are organic.
