Guest guest
Hello, I'm just catching up on all the great recipes and chat. We got back from Cuba very early Monday morning. Had an amazing time. The people were lovely. The resort - Playa Pasquero in Holguin was nice. The food was okay (the food in Cuba is not terrific for a variety of reasons). The vegetarian restaurant was nice. My DH agreed to go once (he is not veg). There were veg options at every dinner but would not be good for vegans. On the way home we took the bus in the daylight so we had a good view of the countryside and houses. I think it made a big impression on my oldest son to see how poor people really could be. It was very sad to see the conditions that people live in. If anyone does go on vacation to Cuba please remember to bring along stuff for the staff. They cannot get a lot of very basic items. Money is of course appreciated but there really isnt' that much for them to buy. I brought unused make up (gift with purchase stuff), candies, chocolate, left the extra diapers and wipes, change pad, shoes, kids clothing, colouring and activity books, etc. Paula
