Guest guest
Welcome back. My niece was in Cuba with 19 other interns 2 yrs ago. The drug companies sent them there. She is an OB/GYN and she feel in lo ve with the people and country. She said it was very sad to see how people live, how much they need and how much they appreciated everything the 20 of them were able to do for them. She worked with women patients for 5 weeks and one week with Aids patients. Her next stop the following year was Uganda for a few months, same thing there, wonderful people, below poor living conditions and every one was grateful for anything you could do for them, she found very gpood vegetarian food in Uganda, simple but flavorful. She brought me back delicious teas. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
Guest guest
What a great opportunity for your niece. As I mentioned to Chico I really want to have the opportunity to travel and help - volunteer tourism. I think it's important for my kids, who lead a privledged life (as do a lot of us in North America), to understand how others live and to help how they can. Guest guest
The food is definitely not that good (everyone warns you of that when going to Cuba). We managed to find lots to eat though (pasta with red sauce, pizza, vegetable skewers). It was fun though!! , " realshows " <realshows wrote: > > I went for a vacation last year - the food sucked!
