Guest guest
Donna---been in the same place for a while : ). life has been busy at best : ). hubby came home from Iraq with non-life-threatening injuries but it necessitated going back to school full-time for a new career. between tutoring him and teaching 2 kids, it has been very busy. a lady at our church was diagnosed with breast cancer and the holistic practitioner she sees suggested a gluten free vegan diet with the additional avoidances of soy and sugar. I lent her a number of cookbooks but came here for more ideas : ). the sugar-free just kills me. she is extremely limited and needs new ideas : ). our little town is not veg-friendly at all, let alone health-friendly : ). however it has been amazing the people that do come out of the woodwork when they find out you have experience with special diets and I get a chance to educate : ). the best place for new recipes is here though : ). Guest guest
Anne it's nice to have you back, and top hear your husband is back home safely. My nephews 3 year old is on this diet for cancer survivors. One year later he was just diagnosed cancer free, he's minus one kidney, and part of a lung. His hair grew back and he gained weight, he's got energy now. It's a challenge cooking for him or if they have to eat out. He wants cookies and things the other kids eat but he also knows what his past year was like with constant surgery, scans, chemo, radiation and the ER so he is doing pretty good. Look in the recipe files, there is a gluten free folder. Donna Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
