Guest guest
The Cream of Wheat posting reminded me about a new recipe (for me) that I have been making a lot since it is so cold around here lately. In your crock-pot, mix 1 cup steel-cut oats and 4 cups of water. Add raisins, craisins, and/or walnuts if you wish. Turn on low and leave on overnight. You'll have a lovely, hot breakfast waiting for you when you wake up. If you happen to have guests that wake up before you, leave out the spoons, bowls, and brown sugar or agave syrup and rest assured that they will love it. I'll admit that I leave the fruit and nuts out until the next morning. The raisins get really plump and I just don't care for the texture. Happy, healthy eating! ~Dana (previously a lurker who has finally posted something!).
