Guest guest
Hi Pat....... Here is one of many websites with information on Aluminum and Alzheimer: http://www.webmd.com/alzheimers/guide/controversial-claims-risk-factors Like this article points out, aluminum from cooking utensils does NOT go into the food that is cooked in it. I first heard this rumor back in the 70's when I first got " into " health foods and it didn't make sense to me then. I have read in many magazines, articles in newspapers and internet sites that this was not accurate and as I said, personal experience tells me a lot. My great-grandmothers and my grandmothers either cooked in aluminum, enamelware or cast iron....my mother used mostly Wear-Ever Aluminum and Club Aluminum and cast iron all of her married life and I, at 63, have used Wear-Ever aluminum, Club Aluminum, Colonial Stainless Waterless cookware and cast iron.....as have all 4 of my aunts and probably my 7 uncle's wives......and that is just immediate family.....there are a myriad of cousins that are now from their 50's to 70's......not one case of Alzheimer. One medical website had this to say: Similarly, " Although Thimerosal has been recently removed from most children's vaccines, it is still present in flu vaccines given to pregnant women, the elderly, and to children in developing countries. " This is a video of an interview between Katherine Sebelius and Katie Couric and mentions the fact that thimerosal has been taken out of childhood vaccines but that it is still in some of the H1N1 flu virus. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/cb-typNsu_nfMmS_93c5vKR9Qjn4BONk61g/h1n1_vaccine_a\ nd_safety/ And, on the Dr. Oz episode that I watched just this last week, he said that children's vaccines in the United States (barring some of the H1N1) does not have thimerosal in it any longer. And you can request a " no thimerosal " H1N1 vaccine from your doctor. I have 7 children.....all of them received all of the recommended childhood vaccines that were available when they were babies and as older children. Times have changed and there are many more recommended vaccinations today than there were when my kids were little. I personally think that " they " are giving babies WAY TOO many vaccinations at one time.....when one of my daughters has asked me about what I think on vaccinations, I tell them exactly that. Also, when my children were babies and the doctor wanted to start their vaccinations at two months, I delayed starting the vaccines that early as I was breastfeeding and didn't feel it was necessary to start so early. But, I do feel that children should be vaccinated against the basic childhood diseases? Yes. Why?....because I HAD those those childhood diseases.....all of them, including whooping cough, mumps, red measles, rubella and chicken pox and as a young mother, for sure, did not want any of my children to go through what I had when I was a child. In fact even though one of my sons had a very bad case of chicken pox the first time he had it at 18 months, he did get chicken pox a second time, just as bad as the first case, the second time, when he caught it at 4 1/2 years, when my younger son got them at age 2. So, my question on the chicken pox vaccine has always been, if you are not immune to chicken pox after having the disease itself, how does a vaccine make you immune to them? Should they use thimerosal or mercury in vaccines for children.....no, I don't think so but the proof is just not there that childhood vaccines cause autism. If I understand correctly, the study in England was only done on 12 children.....that is not enough children to do any kind of a study especially not one that affects so many children, and then recently this information was reported: Brian Deer: the Lancet scandal Following a Sunday Times investigation by Brian Deer, Britain's premier medical journal was forced to retract fraudulent research which caused a global health crisis by linking the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine with autism You can read the rest of the article at the following website: http://briandeer.com/mmr-lancet.htm I did a Google search on " scandal about english doctor and autism " and a number of websites came up: http://www.google.com/#hl=en & rlz=1R2GGLL_en & q=scandal+about+english+doctor+and+a\ utism & aq=f & aqi= & oq=scandal+about+english+doctor+and+autism & fp=7da014c016d00ed9 I hope this information helps......being a parent is THE hardest job in the world and no doubt about it.
