Guest guest
I am just curious as to what, if any, vitamins everybody takes. I just spent a while at Rite Aid trying to find some that don't contain gelatin. I ended up with some but they contain artificial colors, what is the point of artificial colors in a vitamin? I am looking for something that contains enough vitamin D, no gelatin and no artificial ingredients and no fish products. Does anyone know of anything and where I can get it. I have access to a GNC, a Whole Foods and the internet where I can get them. I am interested in hearing what everyone uses. Thanks. Guest guest
This dear is can be hard. I like Andrew Lessman's vitamins because the are very high quality vitamins but are not vegan friendly. They are not cheap either, but his auto ship makes them more affordable. They are finely milled and are very well absorbed by my stomach because of my gastro parysis, the slowing of the emptying of the stomach so food is very slow to digest so a liquie diet is best. His secure meals are awesome and whey based. I keep my system going by lots of fruits, veggies, and whole grains, which is ironically what people with my condition are not sysposed to eat. After 90 minutes your stomach is susposed to be 50% empty, but mine is 80% full. To test this you eat a radio active egg and lay under a camera for 90+ minutes. I've done this twice, once to diagnose the disorder and once after I started taking the medicine Reglan that treats it because it wasn't working any more. I quite taking it because I changed my diet away from most all kinds of meat and all kinds of red meat. I only eat meat if I'm going out and can't find something on the menu that is an option. Living in the rural south this is very hard to do. I also can not stomach grease. My body can not handle grease of any kind. Before I quite eating red meats, I quite eating hamburgers because of this. Grease is evacuated in around an hour's time. Grease is just an intruder. Andrew's vitamins help me to know that I'm getting everything that I know I need, plus the secure meals offer a great snack or meal when I'm on the go. I love the chocolate and coffe flavors. I like to mix them. The work great after a workout too to build muscle because of the 7 grams of protein. I also can not handle large amounts of protein at one time, so these work very well, others are just too much. His site is www.procaplabs.com I hope this helps. Guest guest
Well, maybe I'd better read some labels. I take standard old Centrum Silver multivitamins. They're inexpensive. The vitamins at natural foods markets are really pricey! But I don't want to eat gelatin, either. For awhile I got into supplements after reading a Dr. Weil book. But I swear, I think it would be cheaper just to start a heroin habit. -- Trish Carr http://home.comcast.net/~bantrymoon/
Guest guest
I take New Chapter Bone Strength Take Care, which I found at Whole Foods initially, but I got it cheaper online: http://www.vitacost.com/productResults.aspx?ss=1 & Ntk=products & x=0 & y=0 & Ntt=new%20\ chapter%20bone%20strength%20take%20care. I had no trouble with vitacost.com, this was the first time I had ordered from them. This stuff is vegan and has 685mg of calcium, plus a ton of Vitamin D, which is important. Not a multi-vitamin, though. Audrey On Sat, Feb 20, 2010 at 9:17 PM, Sarah Navarro <navarrosarahwrote: > > > I am just curious as to what, if any, vitamins everybody takes.
