Guest guest
Sitting at the computer, trying to psych myself up (and wake up) to go grocery shopping. I just feel " bleh " today. Guest guest
Sounds like a nice Sunday, Donna. I did all of my cooking and baking yesterday afternoon and last night. I had a friend over for supper, made a meal for my friends who just had a baby, and baked 2 pans of brownies and 1 loaf of banana bread. Now I'm messing around on ebay looking at vintage kitchen items -- especially teflon-free waffle iron/grill combos! I can get myself into a lot of trouble with ebay (it's genetic - I get it from my mom!!) Guest guest
Good morning Donna, I'm listing to Native American Flute music, and just ate a yummy wrap with freshly ground Flax Seed, sauteed garlic and refried Pinto Beans. Expecting cold and snow today, so I covered the garlic sprouts and Catmint that are coming up. Looks like the Blueberry bush is turning green and the indoor Parsley, Rosemary and Chive plants are thriving. Guest guest
Re: OT what's everyone doing? I think this is one of the few times my husband and I have watched 'til the very, very end of the Olympics on TV. We've not missed much this time--from opening ceremonies to the last sputter when the big torch gets put out. I got hungry, and I confess, it was really pretty late to be eating, but I did it anyway. I chopped 1/2 a chayote squash into small sliver-pieces, chopped up a couple of larger-sized crimini mushrooms and some (firm) baked tofu--then sauteed it all in a skillet in a little oil until it was --I dunno--kinda tender with the shredded squash. Sprinkled some smoked red pepper and some seasoning salt and a little thyme and parsley flakes over it... Now, I don't know exactly WHY picked those 3 ingredients to throw together, but they had an interesting flavor when I got done and I put some mayo on a couple half-slices of whole wheat bread and it tasted (or did I imagine it?) kind of like an egg-salad sandwich. I've been craving egg salad for several days and just felt too lazy to cook the eggs for it. (Really wouldn't have been any more trouble than slicing the tofu and other stuff, when I think about it!). The funny-ingredient sandwich tasted GOOD...but, well, it WAS a little late to be eating and I felt a bit too full afterward, even if it was only a half-sandwich! So, in answer to the question: " Eating a sandwich and watching the very last of the Olympic Games stuff on TV with my husband. " (He declined the sandwich I offered, btw. Where IS his sense of adventure??) Have a great week, everyone! Today is the beginning of my favorite month! :-) --Laura B., in Illinois
