Hi April,

" The Essential Vegetarian Cookbook " (doesn't have an author but it is published

by Murdoch Books)

" vegie food " another of Murdochs

" Simply Delicious Vegetarian " by Carla Bardi

" Great Tastes Vegetarian " Bay Books an imprint of Murdoch Books

" Homestyle Vegetarian " yep Murdoch again

" Low-fat Vegetrain " consultant editor Anne Sheasby. Southwater books

" Easy Vegetarian " Parragon Books

" The Vegetarian Gourmet " recipes by Dragma von Cramm

Good Housekeeping " Easy to make Meat-Free Meals "

Hope that helps

I usually like the Good Housekeeping books - is this one a good one? I've

seen it in the bargain-books area before, but never opened it.

hi Audrey,

I really like it and it has a section showing how to prepare(with pictures)

veggies, polenta etc which is very useful. It tells you how many servings

recipe will make, if it it is easy or a little effort, preparation time and

nutritional information (calories, fat (and saturates),carbs and salt. I made

the white nut roast from this book and I loved it. I told my son it was meat

loaf (he hates my vegetarian c*ap) and he loved it. I eventually told him it was

vegetarian and he said he felt sick lol.

It has a recipe for Mushroom Pithiviers which looks really nice, and I have not

seen it in any other book (and I have plenty lol)

Hi Audrey,

I have just realised I have two Good Housekeeping books

" Favorite Recipes Vegetarian Meals " and " easy to make! Meat free meals " . IMHO

the latter is definitely the better book.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look for them at the used bookstore. It's

funny, I looked on Amazon and a used book website and didn't see either.

I've seen tons of the little Good Housekeeping ones at my bookstore, though.
