Guest guest
Buy a Garlic Press. They aren't expensive, work great and last forever. I use mine all the time. I've had it for about 23 years and it still works like a charm. Just make sure you clean it out right after you use it. when garlic dries in it, it becomes like glue. Just use a butter knife to remove the garlic skin from it and rinse it out. You don't even have to peel garlic, when you use this. This is the one that I highly recommend. http://www.amazon.com/Zyliss-Jumbo-Garlic-Press-Cleaner/dp/B0001VQI9K/ref=sr_1_8\ ?ie=UTF8 & s=home-garden & qid=1269413287 & sr=1-8 Zyliss Jumbo Garlic Press with Cleaner http://www.amazon.com/Zyliss-Jumbo-Garlic-Press-Cleaner/dp/B0001VQI9K/ref=sr_1_8\ ?ie=UTF8 & s=home-garden & qid=1269413287 & sr=1-8 Enjoy, Judy

Guest guest
I have one of those old style, all metal, roundish with a handle garlic presses that I got back around 1968 or so and it does work ok but some of the garlic cloves always came " smooshing " around the pressing part and I had to push that back down in there and press again and I always felt some of the garlic was wasted. And, I got to where I hated cleaning that dang thing. Then one day a few years ago, I was watching the Food Network channel and saw one of the top professional chefs mincing garlic and it was so fast and so easy that I tried it. You put your garlic clove, or cloves, on a cutting board, then take the flat side of a Santoku style chopping knife (or any other flat sided, wide knife), and put it down on top of the garlic cloves.....then, kind of smack the flat side with the heel of your hand with enough force to flatten the garlic cloves. The garlic is separated from the garlic skin/peel and you have flattened cloves which are then SO easy to mince with the knife. No mess, no cleaning and minimal touching of the raw garlic. Once you seen this done, and try it, it is so easy to do......just another way to do it. Nancy C. East Texas
Guest guest
I second the garlic press suggestion. I love the Pampered Chef garlic press<http://www.pamperedchef.biz/gingerconnelly?page=products-detail & categoryId\ =123 & itemId=2576 & productId=26463> - you don't have to peel the garlic and it has a nifty little tool that gets the peel out and cleans all the little holes. I've had mine for more than 10 years and it still works exceptionally well! I use it almost daily (we love garlic). So give your PC consultant a call - quick! Guest guest
I always just smash the garlic cloves with the side of a cleaver, and the shells come right off, then I throw them in my little food processor and grind em' up good. Then again, I use massive amounts of garlic. Blessings, Chanda Maria
