Guest guest
What do you make for someone who does not like sweets? I would like to bring a treat for a paralegal who saved my butt this week at work, her favorite snack is chips and salsa. I would like to make her some homemade salsa, but I can only get nasty winter tomatoes this time of year here. Suggestions? Thanks! Guest guest
Can you get cherry tomatoes? I recently was at the grocery store & asked a hispanic lady what type of tomatoes did she use to make salsa & she said she always uses cherry tomatoes... Guest guest
Audrey, What about Salsa Verde? You can get wonderful Tomatillos at your local market or Mexican speciality food store. Your best bet for fresh tomatoes is your health food market. The tomatoes will be imported but often a better quality than regular markets. You should be able to get organic tomatoes from Mexico at this time of the year. Fresh Cilantro can also be found at your local health food store. Deanna in Colorado also at recycled_gardens ************************************************ ((( <AudeeBird wrote: > What do you make for someone who does not like sweets? Guest guest
Try this, it works and will be delicious. I have done it many times in a pinch. Get a nice thick jar of salsa, drain it a little bit, add minced fresh onion, and cilantro. You can also add sliced olives and basil to give it an Italian touch. I've added minced cucumber too.
