Guest guest
I used to wear contacts before LASIK and one time forgot about the jalapenos I had eaten several hours before I put one in. It took at least 10 minutes with one eye shut tight for the burning to go away.
Guest guest
I did this too. I was in such misery I thought my eyeball was gone. Then I burned my lip trying to rub a dot of lipstick off. It was just awful for a few days. Donna " The afternoon knows what the morning never suspected. " Old Swedish proverb. Guest guest
A similar thing (with hot peppers) happened to me. Years ago, I had undergone " orthodontic work " on my teeth (adult braces) and had one of those " retainer " things to wear for several hours a day after the braces came off. I remember chopping raw hot peppers for something one evening and the phone rang. I wiped my hands quickly before answering the phone--one of those old, " attached " phones in our kitchen. Recognizing the caller, I removed my retainer so as to better converse, then after the phone call, I put the retainer back into my mouth--YOWEEEE! I had touched it with my still HOT and peppery fingers! I quickly removed the retainer... The next day, for some reason, the retainer was not to be found. I had lost it and, no matter where or how long I looked, I could not locate it! I still have no idea what happened to it. (I was too embarrassed to tell my dentist I had simply LOST it while talking on the phone!) Gloves! Gloves! Gloves! --I keep a box of them handy at all times; I will (I hope) NEVER mess with hot peppers again without first putting on gloves! Good wishes from she who likes it nice and " hot " ! --Laura B., in Illinois I used to wear contacts before LASIK and one time forgot about the jalapenos I had eaten several hours before I put one in.
