Guest guest
I'm with you. I prefer my own cooking. I take things along in my purse to add to my meal also. You're in their territory and you don't need to rattle the boat. Who knows how nasty a prior vegetarian was in there before you, could have made a lasting impression on the cook. I saw try to make it simple and don't give them a hard time. Every week there's a list printed in the local newspaper of places in my area the board of health has closed or given severe citations for various reasons, vermon, refrigeration not cold enough, no hot water, etc. Gives me the creeps. Guest guest
Same here Donna, I recently read that there will be fewer restaurant kitchen inspectors due to the economy. Good heavenly days !!, it was bad enough before , can you imagine what it will be without inspections. I seldom if ever eat out, but recently had to go to a family get together. It was held buffet style at a small local restaurant. I was surprised that half of the food was Vegetarian (hopefully). The servers were wonderful and the food was actually very tasty. I'm sure the beans and tortillas were meat free but probably not totally Vegetarian. If I have to eat out I call ahead and ask what type of Vegetarian meals are available. There are very few restaurant these days that don't have vegetarian choices. Not perfect or Vegan but close enough if I choose to eat at a restaurant. People should also realize that a veggie burger is cooked on the same grill as everything else. How many fries did Vegetarians eat before they were told what the potatoes had in them? Also, all deep fried food items are cooked in the same oil. No such thing as *perfect*, not even close, but the best one can do is prepare a certified organic meal at home and invite friends and family. Sending smiles and hugs to you all Deanna in Colorado also at recycled_gardens ************************************************************* (((thelilacflower wrote: > I'm with you. Guest guest
This is not always true. Each restaurant is different. Many restaurants do cook their vegetarian burgers in a clean pan, not on the grill. Many also cook their potatoes and vegetables in separate oil from their meat products. Just ask each restaurant about their policies. _____ People should also realize that a veggie burger is cooked on the same grill as everything else.
