Guest guest
Hi Florentine, I an ethical lacto ovo vegetarian. Occasionally I feel like some non-veg food But as someone else said, if it was put in front of me I would probably throw up. I was never a big meat eater as a child But both my parents were big meat eaters and I gradually started eating red meat, but I was never a big meat eater. I had been thinking of going vegetarian for some time and decided to omit red meat entirely, and just eat chicken and fish. Then middle of last year I was on holidays and there was a strapping young man who had become vegetarian (ethical reasons). And I thought, well if he can do it I certainly can. If people want to eat meat they should at least find out were it comes from. I can't bear the thought of how some animals are treated. I watched a show the other night and it was about how chickens are treated, and it was appalling. But they also showed an organic farmer and his chickens (and pigs) were allowed to run free and enjoy a good life. Everything has to die, it is the life they live in between that bothers me. So now I try to find organic eggs (certified), because in Australia they can say " cage free " , or whatever they like, and it means nothing. Good luck and just do what you are comfortable with. If people only ate meat 3 time a week it would make a huge difference. Virginia West Aussie love joining in this group.. hi guys.. I wanna ask about your reasons being a vegetarian - vegan and what kind of vegetarian - vegan that you choose?? is that pure vegan, ovo, lacto, or lacto ovo vegetarian??
