I did that probably 35 years ago or so......seems like you have to pull the

rose hips off of the bushes after the petals have fallen.....then they have to

be dried.....and that is about all I remember about it. Have you tried

searching the internet? I am sure someone has posted something about it on the

net somewhere.

Here is a website that has all kinds of information for you:

Does anyone know how to make rose hip tea from rose hips in your garden?

Rose Hips are best if picked right after the first hard frost.

That is if you can keep the birds and other critters from eating them before you

get them. A guaze covering helps keep the birds from getting eating the hips.

Hopefully your hips are on bushes that are chemical free.

Rugusa Roses have very nice large hips, but I like the taste of wild rose hips.

Air dry the hips and store in a glass container.

Most hips have hairy like things that can get get into your tea. if you steep

the hips whole.

Best to use a tea ball strainer, or I like to use a tiny cotton bag .

I purchase the cotton bags at my local health food market for less than 20 cents

each.

The bags can be washed and re-used.

I also have a small fibre basket strainer that works well. I'm not fond of the

metal tea strainers because they often give tea a metalic taste.
