Guest guest
Name: Blair Location: Des Moines, Iowa Age: 26 Hi everyone! I just joined and will probably lurk for the most part, as I do with my other groups! I am currently an omnivore, but am interested in vegetarianism as a healthier lifestyle, creating a smaller footprint, and partly from the ethical side of it. I work full time in insurance, and part-time (for now, hopefully f/t within a few years) as a positive-only dog trainer. I have 2 dogs myself, and my desire to create the most ethical and natural life for them as possible has slowly pushed me towards being as ethical and natural as I can be as well. I am planning to start slow...switch out meat meals for veg-based ones, experiment with maybe some meat substitutes, and dabble a bit. I may not go f/t veg (I do loves me some fish...but hate the enviromental devestation of it) but I'm going to start slow and see where I am guided! Yours, Blair (with my mentor-pups, Maya and Sappho!)
Guest guest
Hi Blair, welcome to the Garden of Earthly Delights! Welcome also to the wise and talented Maya and Sappho. The hardest part about exploring a vegetarian (or even more veggies in your diet) is the first month or so. Well, that and the folks who will try their worst to change your mind. The folk here on this list are the best. You'll get all the support you want or need and recipes that are divine. Lots of common sense things, too. (Like finding vegetarian friendly fast food other than salads.) I'm betting you won't be a lurker long. Good people here, and good food. Jeanne in GA. With Ursula the Elder, Sophy the Love, Toby the Blind of Eye but Stout of Heart and 30 or so cats and kits who don't hold their doggyness against them.
