Guest guest
Virginia..... The old pressure cookers are great too. IF the directions are followed you won't have any problems. No one I know in my family has ever had one explode including my Grandma Davis who was married in 1897 and had a REALLY old pressure cooker. You just have to pay attention operate them per instructions and you won't have pea soup on the ceiling. Really, it is that way with all cooking. When I was around 14, I was babysitting and decided to make a hard boiled egg. Put an egg in a pan, set it on the stove, got busy playing with the children and forgot all about that egg until I heard a very loud POP in the kitchen. Went to check......the pan had boiled dry and the egg had exploded all over that kitchen. I learned an important cooking lesson that day at 14 (besides how to clean up cooked egg all over a kitchen)....I learned it is important to know what you are doing in a kitchen using whatever equipment you may be using to avoid any problems. I have never had any of my old or very old pressure cookers explode and they all work great. Nancy C. East Texas
