Guest guest
I sent this recipe to 1 group many moons ago, then it was stolen and everywhere. I am trying again, these are very good. I had misplaced it till this morning. I hope you enjoy it. Char Chewy Molasses Bran Cookies 3/4 cup soy margarine or light olive oil 1 cup brown sugar 1 egg or 2 egg whites 1/4 cup molasses 2 tbsps. wheat germ 1/2 cup bran 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 2 tsps. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. cloves 3 tbsps. low fat milk 1 or 2 cups raisins or dates, optional Blend in margarine or oil, sugar, egg and molasses. Add remaining ingredients Cover dough and place in refrigerator for 1 or 2 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease cookie sheets. Roll dough into 2 inch balls and roll in sugar. and place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Do not over-bake. Don't omit the sugar rolling, which gives them a pretty speckled appearance, with an added pleasing texture and taste. These are healthy, chewy and spicy.
