Jack, my little black chihuahua, is a great sneak thief - yesterday he

stole half of a candy bar out of my grandma's purse, which was sitting

on my kitchen table. She didn't realize what happened til she got home

and couldn't find her candy bar.

Tonight I made it too easy for him - I dropped two chunks of tofu onto

the floor, and he beat me to one of them. Wanting to see what he would

do, I followed him and watched while he spit it out (on my carpet, of

course), sniffed it carefully, then ate it! And then he went back to

the kitchen to look for more... Just had to share! :)

Watch Jack getting chocolate. It can be very toxic to dogs, and Jack is a

small dog. He probably spit out the tofu because of the texture, not the

taste. He then went ahead and ate it.

I spit out tofu the first time I had it, too -- because of the texture! :)

I know chocolate is not good. My friend who is a vet tech told me that

really the only time they see dogs ill because of chocolate is if they eat a

large amount of dark chocolate, usually truffles. A few chocolate chips (or

a half of a Mounds candy bar, which is mostly coconut anyway) every once in

a while is not enough to even make my 8 1/2 lb dog ill -- but I keep him

away from it anyway, when I can. :)
