Guest guest
Here are my favorites to make for company. 1. Eggplant parmesan - if it has cheese and tomato sauce, it seems to be a hit. Add some fresh basil and it's extra good. 2. Cheese and onion enchiladas - same as above, if it's cheese, most people like it 3. Veggie fajitas with onions, mushrooms, red bell pepper, zucchini and yellow summer squash (marinated in some good spices like Penzey's fajita marinade) - provide lots of shredded cheese, guacamole, sour cream, and salsa and most people forget to complain that it doesn't have meat in it. Hope this helps! Audrey On Sat, May 8, 2010 at 7:53 PM, stampeaz03 <alp wrote: > > > Hello! I am a new vegetarian. Guest guest
I like to know what the company *likes* to eat, and if I don't know them well , I ask. It could be Italian, Mexican,or what grandma always said " farm folks food " . Then I adapt the recipe to fit the company. One thing I never do is attempt to introduce them to things like Tofu or hummus. You can always make that when you are invited to a *bring a covered dish* get-together. So it's pasta, tortillas w/chili, potato soup and sour dough bread , or grilled cheese sandwiches..LOL...Sometimes they get a salad but most of the time it's fresh veggies and dips. Everyone loves to dip veggies or chips. You can adapt any recipe to your company's taste and still make it Vegetarian. It's always important to know your company's life style, religion, ethnic background, and health or diet restrictions, before the get-together. Try to have something for everyone invited, and that includes children. Your guests won't even notice that the meal is Vegetarian. Check our recipe files. You will be amazed at the TNT(tried and true) recipes. Guest guest
My favorite is cheese lasagna. My dad even complimented me on it and he is a beef farmer (hardcore -eat meat until his deathbed) and NEVER gives compliments unless he REALLY means it. I just used the recipe on the side of the box! --- On Sat, 5/8/10, stampeaz03 <alp wrote: stampeaz03 <alp [veg_grp] Dinners fro Company Saturday, May 8, 2010, 8:53 PM Â Hello! I am a new vegetarian. Guest guest
Absolutely agree with Deanna about not trying to get anybody to try anything they think is " weird " like tofu. The most adventurous I have gotten is adding tvp to taco soup or chili. Audrey
